Subject: Update WOW wk 12/2/2007: 5th & 6th Grader at PCAC Sunday School
Dear Parents,
Fristly, I'd like to introduce myself - Sam Shen, that a volunterring teacher at 5th and 6th graders' sunday school program at PCAC where I believe that your child is attending.
It's a great honor to be part of the spiritual journey along-side with your child at pcac church family. And we want to also support your role as spiritual leader to your child.
PCAC children ministry has chosen FaithWeaver Bible Curriculum, which we believe that it provides one of the highest quality Christian education.

Today, first class, we have an openning class for the season of Christmas - where the center of the talk and matter should be our LORD, Jesus Christ.
The subject of the class - Get Ready For Jesus, takes home the message about what Christmas is all about.
We started it off with having all of the students to search thru the newspaper Ad (those shopping commercials) for the following words or figures, or pictures concerning,
1) Cross, 2) Santa, 3) Christ, 4) Jesus.
Guess what?
They found 15 accounts of "Santa" and 1 appearance of "Cross".
There are no mentioning or pictures of either "Jesus" or/and "Christ".
We need to be discerning in this world for all the influrence around us.
Later, it leads into what I called "K-C-I-C" theme (a acronym for kids to easily remember):
--> that is., Keep Christ In Christmas!! (it sounds like "KICK")
[we use it , by saying... Are You KCIC'ing this season?]
The main passages of the bible verses are Isaiah 2: 1 to 5 where it talks about the 2nd coming of the Christ - in a pictorial words, like LORD's Mountain where all the nations will stream to it. (as in the scriptures,
末後的日子、耶和華殿的山必堅立、超乎諸山、高舉過於萬嶺．萬民都要流歸這山.)
How is it possible for all the nations to stream to Lord's Mountain?
It comes back to the very root of "SIN" issue - then we played a game - Dart Board game;
Dividing the students into three groups and each group gets to shoot the dart;
What's the point?
==> driving home the main point on that "We all sin against GOD and fall short of HIS Glory".
SIN - the word in greek, has to do with "Missing the target".
As I challenged the kids about NOT relying on your personal strength but rather, confessing and coming before GOD for His mercy and salvation.
Key version: John 3:17 (Please encourage your child to memorize it - they all know about this] I've given each child a index card to write the version on and for easy safe-keeping.

Encourage your child hooked on God's Words - it can only bring life-changing results in Christ.
