Subject: Happy New Year! WOW week of 1/2/2005 at 5th & 6th graders at PCAC's children sunday school

Dear parents,
Firstly, Happy New Year to you and your family!!
Here is the scoop on what we enjoyed in the first class of 2005:
1) Welcome 2 new friends: Jennifer and Veronica.
Jennifer just arrives USA recently with her family.
There are a lot for Jennifer to get customed to... I believe all the boys and girls
in the class are willing to reach out their helping hands.
Veronica is no stranger to PCAC - 'cause she attended our VBS!!
Once again, we welcome Jennifer and Veronica into the PCAC family!
2) Our theme today is Nahum 1:7,
The LORD is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him,
KJV version:
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and
he knoweth them that trust in him.
3) We did a game to highlight the idea - that is,
Blowing a cotton ball thru a narrowing path inprinted on a legal paper.
No hands are allowed but only blowing air from the mouth.
Guess what? To my surprise, none of the boys and girls was able to finish the task!
(Even though I prepare a surprise prize for that!!)
SO what's the point? GOD directs our path and HE guides us in every path.
4) We also presented the news headlines from past several days about the Tsunami hit
in SouthEast Asia.
(E.g., http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/01/03/quake.trauma.reut/index.html)
The idea is to stress following points:
A) No one holds the future but our LORD.
B) Trust in HIM in all circumstances
C) Challenge to all students: Help out in Tsunami victims.
5) We plan to have skits in the class. The plan, at least for now, is to break up
all boys and girls into 4 groups and each group is to act out a skit based on biblical account.
I'll keep you posted as we go along.
Attached is the WOW page for week 1/2/2005.
Enjoy the new year!
KLUP!
