Subject: WOW week of 2/13/2005 at 5th & 6th graders at PCAC's children sunday school

Dear Parents,
Wish that you'all have a great Valentine's Day!
A quick update on what we talked about on Sunday school program;
First of, we had a Donut treat for every boy and girl in the class - well... say that
we have a "sweet" Valentine's Day start!
1) A game called "I.D.I", which stands for "I Doubt It".
Every boy and girl gets a turn to come afront to tell a statement
which can be True or False. The rest of the class gets to take a guess.
To doubt, you said "I.D.I". If you think it's true, say "I.B.I" (I Believe It).
(Boy! you ought to see how many IDIs we had... )
The intent is to bring out a point: You can be one day faith-less or faith-ful another day!
One of the disciples who was called "Doubting" is Thomas.
The bible verse in focus is 2 Timothy 2:13, where it indicates,
"If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself".
Everyone gets to recite the verse.
Next week, we'll ask every boy and girl to bring home and remember
all the bible verses taught in the class.
2) Some illustrations on the faith lessons; An example is two men playing bumgy jump.
While ready to jump, the man in the back told the one in front ...
"have faith, man!".
However, the 1st guy did not get it since the "faith" requires an object to be associated with.
So ... where is your faith built in? Wealth? Careet? Health?
3) Moving on to Matthew 14:22-33 where it depicts about Jesus walks on Water.
While some of the students are aware of the verses/story, the application is focusing
on the heart condition whether we, as a jesus follower, are willing to come near
our LORD.
Then... we did the Gift Exchange.
Thanks to every parent for your help and support.
4) The Puppet show
The investigation contnues as the Detective LongHorn gathers tips where may lead
to the discovery of Ducky, the little. Rover is doubting the ability of the detective.
As a result, Rover asked papa Bear to call for help from his friends.
The story is to be wrapped up next week.
