WOW week 4, G4/G5 Class 12/25/2011
Howdy parents,
It is Christmas!! It is a celebration of our Lord - Jesus Christ's birth.
As noted in Luke (路加福音) 2:11,
"因今天在大衛的城裡、為你們生了救主、就是主基督。"
(OR, Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.)
Christmas is not about gift-exchange - although the commercialism today has made it that way.
But rather, it is about keeping Christ focus in the Christmas.
The class began about 15 minutes delay due to A/C (heating related) issues at the building;
We decided to move to new Educational building whose room 116.
OK, class begin with verses (路加福音 2:22 to 40) reading: portraying two figures,
1) 在耶路撒冷有一個人名叫西面．這人又公義又虔誠、素常盼望以色列的安慰者來到、又有聖靈在他身上
2) 女先知名叫亞拿 (Anna)
It is amazing that 西面 waited for his entire life 素常盼望以色列的安慰者來到!
And God fulfilled his longing .... as he was able to witness 因為我的眼睛已經看見你的救恩 (路加福音 2:30)
Through 西面, he announced the true identity and mission of Jesus on Earth;
"是照亮外邦人的光、又是你民以色列的榮耀。" (路加福音 2:32)
Singing time:
It's only more merry and festival to sing Christmas hymns.
We chose a few commonly-known hymns , such as "Joy to the World", for the class to sing along;
At the same time, we delved into the lyrics to understand the meaning of the song much better.
Also the traditional hymn, "Angels We Have Heard On High".
As the Luke 2:7 to 14 verses denote the angels came to 報給你們大喜的信息、是關乎萬民的!!
A sincere announcement:
"在至高之處榮耀歸與 神、在地上平安歸與他所喜悅的人."
Next, it's life application: an activity designed to enhance the lesson...
Activity time:
We asked each student (boy and girl) to write a Christmas card to a person whom they think would need to hear this good news of Christ's birth.
Each boy and girl gets to write the verses or words or even design their own graphics using crayons provided.
Please check with your child to see to whom they write the Christmas card.
We specifically chose a Christmas card with the theme "Three wise men seeking Him", as you may have noticed that it's getting harder to find Christmas card with true "Christmas" meaning in the stores these days.

ep trying - the culture is getting more and more "political-correct". We need to be the salt and light of the world. (馬太福音 5:13 to 16)

To wrap up the class, we prepared some goodies/candy/pop-corns ... :))
Since it's Christmas day, church decided not to prepare lunch for the children classes.
